About us

The Montesquieu Law Review aims to provide an overview and in-depth discussion of French law today, both in its national context and in the wider globalizing world. This includes legal news in France, major court decisions, developments in legislation and case law, together with jurisprudential thinking and debate.

These will be achieved by means of a quarterly digital peer-reviewed publication, comprising two general issues and two special issues, showcasing the best of legal academic writing and research, published entirely in English.

This in itself is an innovation in French academia, as well as being a manifest acknowledgement of a deeper desire to interact with and build a reputation equal to that of leading universities on the international stage.

Approaching the wider subject of French law in two-pronged fashion is an additional innovation: not only is there currently no English-language journal dedicated to the presentation and discussion of French law in itself, but there is consequently no journal claiming to have adopted the globalization perspective vis à vis French law.

Our dynamic electronic publication will therefore seek to break new ground on a number of levels: French law presented in English from a perspective that will be of interest to an extensive readership; establishing the intrinsic value of French national law on an international level; allowing French law to take its place in engaging in and expanding international legal dialogue.

The inaugural issue shall be published in late January 2015.

All downloads of individual articles and the Review as a whole (all in PDF format) are available on the main Montesquieu Law Review page.

Backnumbers shall in their turn be archived and available from the same page.
